Jeremiah S. Marquard is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and partner at Shannon & Marquard, APC.
He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a double major in Financial Management and Management Information Systems and immediately went to work part-time at Cutler & Shannon LLP where his aunt Jeanne was a partner.
Shortly after, Jeremy also accepted a full-time position at Cardinal Health as a Database Analyst. After 8 years of working both jobs, he decided to pursue an accounting career full time and resigned from Cardinal Health to become a tax preparer at Cutler & Shannon LLP.
To earn his CPA license, Jeremy started taking classes at UCSD and passed his final exam in 2010. He continued working as an employee of Jeanne's until becoming a partner in 2017 when they renamed the firm Shannon & Marquard, APC.
He has been an active member of the California Society of CPA's (CalCPA) San Diego Chapter since 2010 when he earned their Young and Emerging Professional of the Year Award. He previously served as the Chapter's Board Director and is currently the Chair of the planning committee for the San Diego Tax Institute. He and his team are responsible for organizing an annual conference that raises money for accounting scholarships and supports the continuing education of CPAs.
When Jeremy is not volunteering his time or filing tax returns, he enjoys playing softball, making beer, wine, and BBQ at home, sailing, and traveling.
Jeremy lives in San Diego with his wife Kirsten and several rescued cats and dogs.
